I just got back from California sonoma county to be exact. I was with two other people and went out at a spot called seal rock. It was cold foggy and i honestly thought there were 100's of sharks around me. It gave me such a bad vibe I couldnt even enjoy myself. I was wondering if anyone has ever been to a spot where they might not ever go back due to it just being sketchy( locals, sharks, or just a crazy spot).
154th Street in OCMD.. most people will say it doesn't exist.. but it does.. it only appears on the day of wing nights at hooters... but to accesss the beach you have to drive your car into the bus stop on 94th street! but you have to do it at 4:20 am! [Might I mention I wrote this post after a few drinks]
ive seen a couple big animals right in lil ol delaware. gotta just forget it and surf or quit surfing
Near Crystals In AC @15yrs ago. Summer dawn patrol. Water was deep, strangely milky-murky, and seemed about 5 degrees warmer than anywhere else. Clean but inconsistent.My buddy and I got out to grab a smoke and found the carcasses of like 8-10 chickens ripped up and scattered around near the boards. Must've been a voodoo ritual because they weren't eaten. That neighborhood was scary back then, with burned out houses and stuff. It seemed deserted, but I always felt like we were being watched. Now its all bulldozed and the Revell casino is going up right there.

Same spot (Crystals) had to give a pack of smokes to a local bum to watch our truck from being broken into while we surfed....good times.Originally Posted by Gabbas13

seen a 8 foot black fin shark check me out by the pier in myrtle beach - came very close and looked at me with his left eye and moved on - so fast...
and once a manta ray came close and his wings look just like huge shark fins - holy crap it scared me silly.
Did anyone surf at Brigantine Castle before it burned down? Pretty cool, we had our own POP, albeit on a much smaller scale.
Roca Bruja (Witches Rock) Costa Rica was a pretty crazy spot. Like idiots my friends and I drove there instead of shelling out some cash for a boat ride (epic drive if you have a suitable 4 x 4). After the drive you gotta walk like 4 miles to the river and then follow the river to the mouth for about a half mile. The whole way walking along the river there were all kinds of Crocodile activity, tracks etc. Finally got to the beach and it was A-Framing for like 80 yards both ways with perfect barrels. After catching a wave you would literally be standing in waist deep river water. I was just waiting to get snatched by a croc. I would totally go back for sure though.
