I'm up in the NE this weekend to play music and I caught a few waves at Point Judith in RI this morning. Views of the lighthouse, super nice folks in the lineup, long waist-high rides. Maybe they'll construct an artificial point break in Maryland one of these days...

He surfs very well. However, I understand you position. Dave catches more then his share of waves in any decent session. But don't you try to as well? I know I do. Guess you can call me a wave hog as well.
Have you ever tried to talk to Dave?
anyway don't know what to say other then I have been out with him in big and small, at all the regular places and have never had a single issue catching a wave around him. If you can not catch a wave who's fault is that exactly?
didnt say i cant get along with him i merely stated fact.i catch most every wave i want i just dont ride a tanker when its good and do everything in my power to get every single wave and make ridiculous noises the whole wave so everyone will look at me. ask around and im sure youll find most lokes would agree with me. but hey man its cool that you dig him so much. its one thing to ride a log and hustle for waves when the out of towners are down for the weekend to flail around and hit up the bars and barf all over dewey but when theres 5 guys out and they all know and respect each other you dont need to paddle battle and drop in on em in 40 degree water.i aint making it up chief, ive seen it for years.not everyone has to dig everyone else.

Fair point ripturbo. Just remember that those out of towners aren't necessarily bad surfers, or less deserving of a wave than anybody else out there. Yea, I get frustrated too with people in the way who are flailing around and that's pretty much why you ain't gonna see me at IRI unless it's sunrise on a weekday. And also remember that those out of towners are the reason for a good 2/3 of the economy (for what it's worth right now, granted) that you enjoy if you live in a beach town. I used to live there too (in OC), I can tell you. So give them a break, maybe even a pointer. You might just get more waves than you would have otherwise, and perhaps a new door opened up. I *****ed out some guy in the outer banks at the Kitty Hawk pier about 8 years ago, then we talked peacefully later. I ended up building about 50 houses down there with the guy and made a lot of money on it, and now count him as one of my good friends. I believe we call that Karma.not everyone has to dig everyone else.
karma doing ok and wave count is very high. off the charts actually. i just aint too keen on surfing near one guy.get over it.
