That shark pinged at 1:21 AM on Nov. 4 right at high tide in the area. No telling what he was after... manatee, dolphin and we also have a small otter population.
This is the shark that washed up in 2008 http://shemcreeksc.com/blog/13-great...morris-island/

70 million sharks slaughtered by humans each & every year.
1 Kiwi sponger gets wacked by a fish.
Nothin' for nothin'? It's pretty obvious which entity is 'threatened.'

I was camping at Matapalo in 98 when some guys from Cali we met in Dominical showed up. there 1 paddle out and come in spot so we all jumped in together. as we were paddling out a bunch of small fish jumped out around us. One of the guys yells"Anchovies! getting some for a pizza" and plunged his hand down in the middle. he was bit a bunch of times before he could pull back. we all went in and wrapped his hand up and sent them to the tattoo guy in Puerto Jimenez. Others were reluctant to go out but getting the place all to myself was unusual so I paddled out. a few yards from the beach a giant wad of fish blasted out in front of me. I turned around as fast as I could. Matapalo hates me.
