I wasnt saying you dont know what your talking about.
I really think this country is digging into a deep, deep hole, and has fiscal and foreign policy problems that are so bad if they arent solved really soon, the hole will be so deep it will take decades or longer to solve, and will cause a lot of pain. The next presidential and congressional elections are going to be really critical and few if any politicians are willing to make necessary but unpopular decisions because the whole process of governing has been corrupted by obsessions over winning the PR-perception battle, media coverage, constant campaigning, and constant fund raising. Any serious attempt at problem solving goes out the window. Just look at the last 72 hours in congress.
In your post your use the following reference points:
"I have this new color of lipstick you can try out on that pig of yours"
"Chicago-style buddy-buddy cronyism"
"fresh,* *successful,* or *changey"
"Democratic Kool Aid mill"
I guess the point i was trying sarcastically, but unsuccessfully, to make is that these kinds of flame throwing slogans are at the core of what is wrong. They are VERY useful in winning PR battles, and getting ratings for MSNBC, FOX and the like. Using those reference points in a debate brings the discussion down to the gutter politics level that has gotten us to where we are.
