That is sad. If you don't mind, keep the SwellInfo community posted. And you Ocean City guys watch out for sharks. Keep some Mancos and Mancos available as a decoy if you run into sharks. I feel bad for that whale. Well at least the poor guy didn't land in Atlantic City.

Laughing at the Mack and Manco's decoy comment. Prep's guy myself. Seriously about the sharks though. I paddled out once with a dead whale floating about 200 yards out a few blocks down from where I was... that ocean was ALIVE... couldn't put a paddle down without startling something (including myself). I fell off of a wave and landed on a big fish that totally freaked out and thrashed away... just like I did... and that was it. Waist hi and semi-clean wasn't worth it. No clue what that fish was and I am glad that I did not have to find out.

So any update on the whale? I haven't seen the news today and I rather hear aboot it from a surfer dude anyways. I hope none of Ocean City's finest got attacked by trolling sharks. Maybe some of youse guys out there wouldn't mind that happening. I don't know.

  7. Was there off and on between surfing and what not the Marine Mammal Stranding Center from Brigantine was there cutting him apart all day! OC Public Works folks were moving him to the north end with bulldozers and dump trucks and burying him. I Don't think this was the best of ideas but what can you do. ended up being a 60ft Fin Back Whale! There are Pictures and some videos of the action on our Facebook!

Waaaaaaaay back in the day an even larger whale washed ashore in oc. They did the same thing - buried it under the LP bridge. Not sure why they do that, but there must be a good reason.

  9. They are burying it pretty much under it again.

LOL that thing was not even close to 60 ft, who's tape measure were they using cause its broken! Tho they did spend all day truckin it north for burial, so maybe my eyes deceived me yesterday.
