Wow, this fall was consistent as all heck up in New Jersey. Didn't let up until mid-December. The La Nina years tend to steer the lows coming across the country more to the north(during the winter months). Resulting in more hit and miss swells of the shorter variety. Really, this past fall was no good in VB? Wow........ Irene hit and it pretty much kept coming after that.
the end of september into early oct there were some random days, but it was probably shoulder high+ 1-2 per month since. lots of ankle to thigh clean longboard peelers but that is about it. it is less exposed to certain swells
Wrong spot go all the way to the end where it becomes sandbridge when you hit the gate park and enjoy empty waves.Lucky bastard! haha. the few times ive been over there is when my buddy is lifeguarding up in the stand and he doesnt blow the whistle at me until his supervisor comes over and tells him to
Base/ edge of sandbridge. No public parking on SB side of the fence all the way down to the mile or so to the market so its really locals only and not that many surf. Obviously military on the DN side of the fence and its the other designated surfing area. Gate has been closed since 9/11 and its separated from the other beaches so not a lot of traffic down that way.is that on base or considered on the edge of sandbridge?

thanks for the info
Yes dam neck is a good spot, but a better one is the extreme south end of vb, beyond backbay, that's right false cape, absolutely no crowd. Hell I've never seen anyone there. Of note is the fact that Dr. Klotzbach and Dr. Gray have not posted a forecast, and will not do so until late spring, and yes La Nina is diverting the jet stream northward keeping storms and cold away for the most part.
