the flyer and flyer 2 are two of the most popular models in the world. i always say go with your local shaper, but it will be a good all around board, from waist to HH. it has a flatter entry rocker, and a quad setup would be good if you want drive. i have never ridden once personally but if its what you want than go for it!

I think you should be comfrortable with riding a quad before buying a quad! lol. I have been riding a quad setup the last 3 times I have surfed. My board has 5 fin slots so I was testing out the quad option. Its a different beast altogether from the 3 fin thruster setup.
I can say that the quad helps me get to the open shoulder but turning is a little different. I think its a situation where either you like riding a quad or you dont. I prefer the thruster setup. just something to think about before you purchase.

A friend of mine had a CI flyer (tri fin) that I used to borrow it every chance I had and loved. Its a great shape for waist-shoulder high waves, somewhere in between a HPSB and a groveler. I dont have any experience with the quad, but love the shape.

surfislife...do you need it?? sounds more like you want it cause the deal looks good. try a quad first to see if it fits you or buy it at a deal with an option to sell it if you dont find you need it. Rail to rail is different, drive is different. I sell quads new for at or just under $400 made in the same factory as CI all hand shaped. The ride is definitely different from the thruster setup. You can also change up the ride by changing fin setups for less money...so...do you need it in your quiver? have you not been able to meet a surf day yet with what you have? Good luck bro.

it will be very comparable to your lost rocket. as i said before the quad will give you more drive and dont be afraid to try new things, quads are GREAT!! but your quiver sounds like you dont need it. just my .02
