worth $ to get place on beach or save $ more inland?
Hello, I'm going to be in southern CA for April and May and I've been looking at some rentals. I like the idea of being able to walk to the beach but I'm afraid after a couple weeks of surfing every day (therefore improving) I'm going to end up in a situation where I have to drive somewhere to get decent waves in which case I might as well live further inland and save the money.
thanks, so I assume the coaster is some type of transportation that goes up and down the coast and lets you take a board on?
Yes. I used to live 2 blocks from the beach in Oceanside. $800/month 2 bedroom. Cheap!
Like I said the train is loud since you are right there but you get used to it and won't even notice it after a while. You really don't need to travel as Oceanside has ridiculous waves. But, if you want to you can bring boards on the coaster. Not sure where you are looking but anywhere near the train will be cheap. If you are interested in Oceanside, check out a few apartments on S. Cleveland St. between Wisconsin & Missouri. That's where I'm from.
Just watch out for the Jarheads and the stanky hookers.
hey man. "southern california" covers several hundred miles. living "near the beach" is relative in and of itself, but whether you are talking robert's cottages on the strand in oceanside or a condo in orange county or a trailer east of solana beach makes all the difference pricewise. OB is cheap compared to PB and they are only a couple miles apart. any idea where you are going? oceanside is a great idea...if that's where you're going. if you're headed to san diego or LA, that's a long a$$ drive. traffic is a B!TCH.
Most definitely! I thought I was going to loose my mind a few days ago. They were circling so low I could tell the color of their helmets. I hate the noise but it sure beats having to drive vs. biking to the beach though.
