Hey guys, Art here. I'm thinking about getting a new board and I am really interested in a Firewire. I have to say though, I am a little worried about the balsa rails. Is the reason people switched from wooden boards to fiberglass because of beaver attacks?
Thats a common misconception, Art. The north american beaver, or castor canadensis, enjoys nothing more than gobbling wood. However, unlike their furrier European counterparts, they prefer dark wood over the light balsas that flank your stick. Also, beware of older, aging beavers, for they can be quite aggresive.
