    Anyone know a good spot around here to surf?

    Yeah, If you are planning on being in that area your best bet is to drive down to Venice Jetty, if and when there are waves. Keep checking the wave report for Venice, that's probably the best spot on the Gulf when it's good out. If you have the ability to drive a couple hours East, you will want to do that instead if the conditions are right.
