i walk down 4 flights of stairs and cross like 50 yards of sand into the water...im in everday no matter what. nothing cleanses the soul like the ocean

  2. I grew up 2 hours from the ocean, moved to florida, lived 1 block away. Now Im in rhode island and I have access to about 10 spots about 15 min max from my house. While I enjoyed living within walking distance, I have grown to like solitude and beach communities don't tend have that. Now I can decide where I wanna surf and I have no easy way out. I surf at least 5 times a week in the winter, and Ill go for a swim everyday in the summer. Its a good life, but I will soon be moving to oregon in hopes of finding a little more swell and solitude.

Live 10 mins from the beach, but the job and its commute really prohibit any surfing during the week, so pretty much a weekend warrior. Worst part is, I usually have a pretty clear view of the ocean as I drive to the ferry in the morning so I know exactly what I am missing.

surf commute is about 20 minutes these days but I am super close to work. I have four times the house that I would be able to afford at "the beach". I go whenever it is good, dawn patrol, after work, whenever. OBX is just over an hour away if I'm feeling frisky.

I live about an hour away, but my moped gets 200 mpg on whiskey piss. So as long as i drink a fifth the night before, the commutes pretty much free. I only go surfing when its double overhead, about two to three times per week in south jersey. If there's no waves, my pet albatross tows me out to the shelf for foil board sessions. Sometimes I spend the night on buoy 44009, which is nice because its only about 25 miles from cape may.

Work 2 blocks and surfing 2 blocks. I get in the water anytime there is a bump on lunch break or dp.
