    Fin Box Screws

Does anyone know where I can find the screw that holds in the fin but also has an eye on it that holds your leash. I have a 70's board that used that style of leash holder. It is the same size screw that you can find with a flat head slot except it has an eye instead. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not really sure I understand what exactly your looking for but try home depot or the like they usually have a massive screw/bolt selection.

just get one of those stick-on fin plugs. they work great & are way easier to find & deal w/ than those screws.

I have heard that the stick on leash plugs work better then expected... but wait... didn't you read the thread about not wearing a leash???
If you don't care that much about the fin- drill a small hole in the back and loop some leash string through that. Or check out ebay, i don't know if you can still buy those things... I use to have one laying around, but im sure long lost...

Why not just a install a lush plug? Its simple and fast.

Sorry chief...they don't make those types of specific eye bolts anymore, but you could just look around for a close substitute. Go stainless steel or brass (which was typical in the past). Simple google search came up with this...LINK. Then just make sure it fits the plate...

Like the guy said, I don't believe they make that type of screw anymore. Please don't do anything to the board. It was made to ridden without a leash. Way back when leashes were not that common if non-existent. Some guys would drill a hole in the back bottom edge of the fin and attach the leash, but the force of repeated pulling on the fin could crack the box, and does slow the board down.

If you find one, frame it and look for a similar, modern option.

Back in the day we placed the loop of connecting cord/string between the fin and the screw plate in the fin box. When you insert the screw, the loop was held in place by the screw.
