    Lido Beach LI?

does anyone know much about this spot? I've heard of people surfing here but I've never really heard if its good or not. Is it a jetty or beach break? I heard some guy say that theres some sort of deep water ditch offshore so it creates a bigger swell. Is there any truth to this or is this guy high

S-fish: Always first with the smart-ass, negative, aggro 'answers'....dude, your comments aren't witty, nor are you funny; you're always not helpful; bottom line, you're just a spleen-venting keyboard pounding negative tool.

What you do, is, you keep people away from this forum because you sit there in VA BEE spewing venom & vinegar at everyone you encounter, in the water & out (seems like every other of your posts is about how you 'rule kookatan' and put people in their place).

I mean, really, can't you just stay in the skatepark?

Caught Lido a bunch of times in college during some fall swells. When there is swell it's good. But again was a further ride from mid Suffolk county usually would end up at RM state park and take the epic walk to the point. Coming from NJ the breaks are refreshingly different out on LI. I was surprised to find some really good waves.

I really enjoy Lido. I surfed it a bunch last hurricane season. There is one jetty (maybe two, I'm not sure), and it is beach break. It gets similar conditions as Long Beach, but I've found that when a swell rolls through it's usually a little bigger/steeper/more forceful.

i never been to lido, but iv been to many other unknown spots around the area in west hampton.lido has been a little sketchy due to all the bodies they found in the marsh over there, they think there is a serial killer dumping prostitutes over there.long island is a super mellow community and everyone knows everybody.my long lost father lives out there in calverton, and the few times iv been there we went to the beach, and where its flat everywhere else the sandbars are always pumping down there.the whole long island can get pretty epic during hurricane season and the winter.iv been out there for 2 hurricanes, and it breaks so much nicer than here in nj.nj is great ,but theres always great sandbars there, from my experience anyway.the outer sandbars there can hold a solid 15ft set without closing out.waves everywhere and the current is super strong,so if you do go out there, just make sure you know what your getting into.you have to be very experienced
