4sale like new Bamboo Longboard fin

Futures Salty 9.25" Bamboo longboard fin. i bought this a month ago for new log and first time i used it i knew it was a bit big for me. literally used it two times. they sell for $75+ so i am asking $50. check it out here:

Please elaborate. I imagine they're glassed pretty well. What kind of additional care could they need?

Bamboo fins are surfable pieces of art. I put them on the same line as RFC's "stained glass" fins - surfable, yet fragile. It is very easy to ding/crack bamboo fins. In a few sessions, my bamboo fin was cracking and RFC was not too helpful: "wear and tear, man." We put a lot of pressure on our fins and the bamboo fin design does hold up like our traditional fins. Personally, if I could do it over again, I would use my bamboo fin on rare occasions or I would hang it on a wall.

On a side note - my friend bought his bamboo fin, shortly after he saw mine. A week or two later, he hit the sandbar and the fin "dinged." Imagine a car hitting a streetlight- that kind of ding. Again, bamboo fins are beautiful, light weight and the chicks dig them; but at the same time, they are super fragile.

Take my advice or leave it - don't destroy it.

agreed, in order to glass a bamboo fin in like that the panel (fin) can actually break away from the base, i have seen it a few times, but as long as you take care of them it will last.

well - i used the fin 2 times. its in perfect condition. just not for me - went with a greenough fin instead. i forgot to mention that i am in ocean twp nj.

Which Greenough did you roll with? I casually use a Stage-6 when I'm looking to get that extra power. I have been thinking about picking up the 4-A, which I heard is "one of the best fins ever." I don't know too much about the 4-C. Gotta' pay homage to the G-Man for the innovation. Bottom line, whichever Greenough you have, your thoughts on it would be beneficial.

i got a custom 9' log this winter and tried an old fin, the Futures bamboo fin which i am trying to sell, neither really did much for the board. i read on swaylocks forum that that the 4-A is magical, so i went for it. i was screwing it on at the beach one day and a guy comes over and tells me you will never use another fin again..he had the bamboo 4-A which was sick (but pricey). he may have been right because the fin is fantastic. perfect blend of drive and hold - i got the 8" as i thoguht it better for my size, not a big dude. i got mine for $50 on true ames website. i def recommend it..

Interesting that you went with the 8" as a single fin on a 9'. You're just one more person that swears by the 4-A; I might have to give it another look. My RFC Wingnut Sweep is holding me back - I feel that the Sweep & 4-A are pretty similar; just two different manufacturers. I want the 10" 4-A in purple - football season is around the corner and the Ravens are going to the superbowl.
