santa cruz pumkinseed vs firewire dominator

anybody have any firsthand experiernce with either or both of these boards? I'm kinda stuck between the two of them. I'm looking for a versatile hybrid with lots of volume. I'm REALLY onto the Dominator but the fact that the Pumpkinseed is a pintail keeps me from pulling the trigger on the Dom. It really boils down to how the fat ass of the Dom holds in bigger surf (head high+) as the intent of this board is to be my all around/ travel board. I have a longboard for the smaller days so im not worried about that. Anybody care to wager an opinion.

I hear that. The Pumpkinseed is listed at a great price - for a board that looks brand new. I don't know too much about either boards, but I have had experience with Firewire (Addvance) in the past. Actually, when I was choosing my FW, it came down to the Dominator and the Addvance. I chose the Addvance simply because the shape and float fit my style and needs more. The Dominator is more of a performance board - I think Taj rides a Dominator. Santa Cruz is a storied label, so the decision should be tough. Happy shopping!

I like FW over tuflite by far........

Dominator good all round board... I say in juice it can go just overhead waves easy... In my experience the roundness of the board makes you have to approach the lip differently and doesn't get real vertical. Once the face is 8ft + you have to coax it into turns. Mushy overhead or a wave face with more of a slope than a pitch -good to go... hollow well overhead-ride something else. Travel board-yes... but take something else to like a step up-nothing makes up for a step up.

i would go with the dom. I have only heard good things and seen people ripping on them. I don't really see too many SC boards out there.
