Today apparently the lifeguards told surf shops not to rent out boards because it was too rough. They didn't even want people boogie boarding, but would let people boogie board if they had fins and actually checked to see if boogie boarders were wearing fins...the surf was around waist high with rip currents? Is this typical or something new? I understand safety first, and I do see where they are coming from with the fins, but advising surf shops not to rent out boards on a waist high day? Isn't that a bit much? Do they only want you out there in knee high surf?
