You can do squats, lunges, and reverse lunges, for instance, while holding weights on your shoulders or in your hands. You'd start with fairly light weights and then increase as you got stronger. Another one is a leg press: holding dumbbells in your hands or on your shoulders, you'd step up onto a step bench about 12-14" high (depending on your height), that one really works the quads.
If you checked out some of the older "Firm" exercise videos you'd see examples of what I mean.

I had thought maybe squats and getting weights shoud help because Ive got my arms under control for paddling through wieghts and push-ups.
I will pick up some weights for my legs that will go over my shoulders, I guess I will need a barbell to do these exercises, or can you do with free weights on both arms?

I have been trying to find the best leg work out to increase my kicking power for large surf days, and rough rip currents. I've been running on our tredmill, but it doesn't seem to be enough,and I do have Viper fins.
Anyone have any advice on the best leg exercises for BBing?
