I saw a guy the other day getting getting a solo sesh in waist high peaks off a jetty at a swimming only beach. Lifeguards just let him surf. I wanted one BAD.

they are toys. but you CAN surf them, and at guarded beaches which makes it worth looking into. Except I think I read somewhere on this forum that OCMD outlawed them.

Alot of beaches have a 42" or so max on body boards. But I think some either just dont know or care. It would be funny to see the surf patrol with a tape measure

I've seen a few kids with them and they're basically an oddly shaped bodyboard with fins on the bottom that are pretty durable and i think removable.

You can bodyboard and surf with it, but most people surf and do tricks. Tricks are easier on it and I've seen the same kids do like 720s and air 360s on waist high surf.

in oc md you now need a leash for it. otherwise it IS pretty cool and easier than a typical bodyboard to stand on. i have one and it is fun on those small days at a guarded beach. though, i like the rails on a big brada better. not as stiff as you would think, no stringer, hence the reason i like the big brada better. but, both are fun, none the less.

I have "The One" and yes it is a toy but very fun and can actually teach you to be a better surfer. I've ridden it from nj beach breaks to ri in 2 ft slop to solid chest days it is a blast to ride. I am 5-10 150 lbs

My friend has one and they are fun in small summer surf but it is a lot harder to initially stand up on it. However it is fun to do small turns on once you get it down.
