For those who live monmouth county..
how long, if at all, will you wait before paddling out after the rain we had this afternoon?

I have never waited to go in after ... I'm sure I will pay for this one day. But if there's waves I am going in
Maybe..time will tell
Never waited either, just wondering how some people feel about it since reading some warnings...
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
What is the downside to going right out? Or durring it?
i have never waited due to the rain. if the run-off is that bad, i just keep my head above the water, and try to always keep water from getting up my nose. if I get out and have a head full of water...i netti-pot it out.
Some of the best surf has been right after a heavy storm.
I'm thinking that it would take some time for all the run-off to mix into the ocean, the worst of it might be the next day or hours later.
I went in after work yesterday, water was dirt... just didn't fall...
I netti-pot alot too..
My mom just showed me some article in the newspaper tho that people have been dying using tap water in the netti-pot.
I guess something in tap can go in your sinsus's and **** your brain up...all I use is TAP hah..I guess distilled water is safest
LOL, Jersey water is suspect no matter what. I always have reservations about water that never turns blue and states that have a concentration of their heavy industry located in wetlands and bays.
