Hey guys,
I am heading out sunday in OCNJ and i was looking at all the forecasts and it seems everyones different.. swell info is saying 2-4ft all day. MSW is saying 5ish and surfline 6-8+.. if anyone could give me some information as to why each forecast is different it would be much appreciated thanks.

IMHO, Swellinfo is the best at predicting swells on the east coast in "normal" circumstances but for Leslie, I like what Surfline has been putting out there in terms of accuracy. Also, keep in mind that your "normal" break may not be as good for bigger swells. I surfed at a place yesterday that was typically average but really held up well with the waves that Leslie is churning out.
supposedly 7th and 8th are rumored to work best with hurricanes so swellinfo is predicting 2-4ft more north and surfline is saying 7th and 8th will be alot bigger.. just what ive heard.. i reallly dont care i am going out either just just wanted to hear your guys thoughts
7th & 8th both suck...actually, oc has sucked entirely on this swell. mile long closeouts up & down the island. seek elsewhere.

nah...we had such small waves for such a long stretch this summer that the bars here are all wonky & out of whack. maybe this swell will stir **** up in time for the next one (whenever that is), but like i said, it's just mile long closeouts all over the place. ocnj is NOT the place to be for this swell.
