Yea you have to walk to the left about 2 miles. Then you come up to a tree with conch shells all over it. Make that left and follow the trail thru the woods about another mile to the exit. When you pop out you will see a massive point break made with oyster shells the local surfers/fisherman had dumped there on purpose. You will also see a small stream to the right connecting the ocean to the bay. Thats what allows the 30 second rides on a big day.
I surf assateague all the time. Pretty average beachie to me. Usually when it's too windy down here or there is N in the wind and / or S in the swell. I've not heard of this magical point break but I don't doubt Mark, that's his turf. Eastern shore locals would do some **** like build their own point break out of oyster shells. I'm surprised they havn't built a castle with them yet. Coolest thing about the eastern shore is all of the stray kittens. F*cking awesome. I love kittens.
Only one way to find out, get your sunscreen and some water and hike it! If you find it, tell no one.
