I have been surprised the past two days with the forecast. The forecast here which I watch religiously said knee. Waist, chest and bigger is what arrived. I'm not complaining I wanted to bring it to attention in a helpful sense. I know nothing beats checking the surf so I dont need a lecture the fouls of the technology and the age we live in. Any explanation of why the forecast is not picking up on the size difference would be awesome especially for 2 days. thanks
from a comment after the article:
If people want the whole explanation, I'd recommend "Chaos" by J. Gleick, but here's the synopsis. If we miraculously had millions of weather sensors, tracking every conceivable factor, in an array a foot apart, from the surface to the troposphere; and if we could analyze all that data to make a prediction; there would still be no way to know the weather for certain more than a week or so in advance. This is because all the tiny effects happening in between those sensors would cause the data to be eventually unreliable.
