after riding supersport motorcycles I have decided that trying to make a car fast, like, actually fast... is futile. Enjoy it as a factory hot hatch and try not to dump too much cash into it....
For a grand I'd go hang out in a $40/night beachfront hotel in papoya nicaragua for a week, rent a car and a board and live on mangos and tona's. Probably still have some $$ left over. Actually, might just try to make arrangements to do this in the spring.

400$ round trip to Oahu. Call it 150$ for boards, either flying them or renting. Stay at a hostel for 30-40$ a night. 7 days 280$. We're up to 830$. Which leaves you 170$ for food and the bus. The bus goes everywhere.
Mmm, Ramen, spam musubi and some tasty waves. Beg some mangos.
I hear ya Stud. Not really going for super fast. I just like a cleaner look and performance. I always have to tinker a little bit
