She swam up the mouth of the Cape Fear River to the Turning Basin a little over a month ago.
Glad to see Huff post an article that doesn't take advantage of an opportunity to spin the story to the beat of the far left's drum. I quit reading that site over a year ago since they slid more and more into an opinion blog rather than a dry news blog..... but that's a different issue....
I would bet that any of us that have surfed consistently this fall and early winter have had Mary Lee within a few hundred yards of us. I know she was pinging around CB during winter break.
Used to go flying with grandfather around Pensacola beach, amazing the amount of sharks we would see swimming within feet of people and they had no clue. As much as I don't want to know, I am kind of curious exactly what is swimming beneath me around here.

uhhh ...No. South Jax/ ponte vedra is shore pound at high tide in 2-3 ft of water or at most 20 yards out in knee deep water at low tide. Mary Lee... not in the surf break. Sharks ...yup.. Great Whites the size of cars...noMary Lee was within 200 yards of Florida's Jacksonville Beach.

they've become a problem when we decided to protect an animal thats now become a problem for all habitats. yes, take them off the protected list. notice these sharks would rarely be seen anywhere close to shore but because the gray seals have been protected now for the past twenty years they come in to feed on them. and no it would be nothing like the way you decribed it anyhow. **** sharks. i grew up in south florida. they suck.
