Well his big boards do turn well in my opinion but it's all defined by the rocker. Like my 10-9 makaha olo I built, it has wicked flat tail so yes it's not a hot dogger but Roy's circular (even) rocked boards hotdog like mad. The rocker and outline say it all. And the turning is not like that of a Malibu long board which can pivot and stall and nose ride. Either way the boards ride. Last week I was blessed with 14 seconds 4-6 feet and I surfed my Roy olo. It was a wise decision, mostly because I was the only man snagging the outside bombs then making it all the way to the inside bowl section. Far out

    Two notes:
    1. If it weren't for the Internet, no one would be plagued by gnome's rantings over his "superior surfboards." He'd be sitting in a sheep meadow planing his boards in blessed isolation.
    2. When gnome asked Rarick to review his product, and RR did so, but the results weren't enthusiastic, all of a sudden the reviewer is a no-good, rat barstard, according to gnome & his trolls. That's when gnome starting posting his vitriol about RR. I mean.....really ...??
But RR can't ride the 13 foot olo correctly I know this by watching the flick lol. This rarrick thing is old now some one should take the video down for the libelous statements that it is. Calling the fin a rudder is so stupid it makes me cringe and very upset inside. Rarrick the surf industry face will have his influences.

Ive talked to other people who rode Stewart boards and the kindest words they could muster were 'awkward' and 'difficult'

this fits as when I watched vids of the boards in action under Roy's piloting (license needed?) I see a constipated astronaut trying to maintain speed and stay in the pocket, looks pretty awkward

NOW PLEASE LET THIS THREAD DIE

FYI I was contacted by Mark 'CJ' Nelson after he watched a recent video of the 'Hotkurl 10'5" he stated that the board turns 'amazingly well' and that it rides very smoothly.

Of course I already know that but it was nice to hear it from an avid noserider and expert.

Randy also made a written report which was far more scathing, he even said that the board would go better if it were cut in half.

The haters always ignore the great ride reports from many others who rode the board during its tour... I can quote them but they will once again be ignored. of that I have no doubt.

Actually Randy approached me and requested the board... it was a community event not an industry led slam dunk but he has a slick tongue and got his way. I was warned by a person who has had dealings with him not to trust him.

It is certainly not a fair review, and it took us 2 years to get the board back, the board was under lock and key due to death threats from the Hawaiian mafia.

If you think there was no agenda under way you are dreaming.

Hi Charles yes we'll keep it going.

The titanium fin is being printed today, it's been quite a process to get it right.

I'll post up some reviews on the Ghost 13 and Makaha designs by independent riders, many are are high praise.

Industry people and in particular other shapers can not be seen as independent, as they all have axes to grind.
