Thread: 3/2 or 4/3

    3/2 or 4/3

I have a 5/4/3 hooded and I want to get either a 3/2 or a 4/3. I am not sure which one will be better. It's nice to have the 4/3 in the early spring and late fall, but in the summer a 3/2 comes in handy. I'd be getting an xcel either way.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Since you already have a 5/4/3 why get a 4/3? Get the 3/2 for late spring and fall. If the water is to cold for a 3/2 you'll be able to wear the 5/4/3.

I agree...u can use the 5mm too if its to cold for the 3/2. May be warmer than if you had the 4mm but thats a good thing isnt it? I have the same setup...go wit the 3/2 and the 5/4/3 or w/e u have. Good luck!

get a 4/3 its nice to have on days like today and yesterday. even earlier then this if you have a good one like a phsyco 2 with a hood. After surfing all winter with a thick 5/4/3 i love the step down to a 4/3 its a world of difference in flexablitly. then in another month or so ill drop to the 3/2.. its all bout the comfort

    +1 on the 3/2. I have a 5/4 and 3/2. If I am a bit too cold in my 3/2 i wear a rashguard under it.

i agree with the above poster. go for the 3/2 and wear a rash for those cooler days. a 4/3 is convenient, but depending on the number of times you'll surf it may not justify it's cost as much as a 3/2, which you'll probably wear more. consider also a spring suit for those cold water days in the summer. surfing sure ain't cheap!

don't think a "rashguard" is gonna generate enough heat to stay warm. . It's for preventing rashes and sunburn. Hence the word "rashguard" If you are looking for extra warmth get a 1m poly pro. And wear that under the 3/2.
