if you want durability, i suggest talking to the good people at coil industries. they're in florida & build great advanced-tech high performance boards that seem to be near-bulletproof.
of the 3 models you mentioned, i'm a big fan of the fred rubble as an all-arounder for here in nj & i think it would translate well to fla waves as well. but i don't think you'd go wrong w/ any of them. if you haven't tried a quad yet, i'd also recommend getting whatever you choose w/ 5 boxes so you can experiment. it's basically like 2 boards in one.
get a good (ie: not plastic/molded), medium size-range 5 fin set & have at it. k2.1 set is a good option in fcs, wct is the futures equivalent (but not available as a 5 fin set).
Yeah i have a cannibal which is pretty solid. I took it to Costa and i only had one or two pressure dings by the time i got back. But i meant durabilty difference between those mentioned boards. But yeah i will look into the rubble as well as the 5 fin set up. One more question tho should i go thumb tail (rounded pin) or squash
Thanks again for your help
I would go with a Mayhem, seems like every wct surfer is on one, as well as some rippers at my local break. Can't go wrong with a CI but it'll probably run you $100 more.
For most days it doesn't matter. If you rip, you rip, the board don't matter. Get a board that floats you well and you like to ride and then "just add water". Just make sure it floats you well. If your worried about durability maybe try a used board or an epoxy board, but if you ride progressively as you said you will probably break it eventually. Das' ok though! Boards like to be ridden!
Yeah I'm def looking into something either epoxy or a little thicker. We need all the the help we can get in Florida. But yeah Alright i'm just looking for personal reviews pros and cons.
Thanks for your help
