I checked the cams too around 6:30 ... it was pretty disorganized, but the wind was out of the SSW. By 8 a.m. though the wind was directly off-shore from the WSW, and had cleaned up the waves pretty nicely. Also by around 9 a.m. the short-period windswell from the ESE was subsiding in favor of the long-period ground-swell from the ENE, and that really helped to clean things up as well.
It's official... after a second surf, it was officially the most fun day of 2013 in VB. Not the biggest, mind you, but fun and about head high all day long. The barrels of the morning mostly disappeared in the afternoon in favor of long, carve-able lines. Best thing is the cold water keeps the kook factor down to nearly zero.
