    Cape May- Lewis Ferry

Thinkin about hoppin on the ferry some day later this week to get some clean waves up in Cape may, Havent been since I was a little kid I would like to just go without my car since its so much cheeper. Is it a long walk from the ferry dropoff to the beach? I did see they have a shuttle, but im curious will it get me to the beach and are they going to be cool with board/wet stuff? Any info would be great thanks.

Not even close with a bike. You need to go a couple miles cross the canal bridge which is big and steep then go another mile to a beach with a half decent break. Don't know where you are coming from but Cape May is not the place to find clean waves......at least waves that don't break almost on the beach.

+1.. Tho it still gets fun Cape may is nothing like it used to be. Even when there's swell it barely resembles its old self. Just when you think the breaks are coming back to life they dredge again. Simply put too many replenishment projects.

It's about a 20 minute bike ride if you're pushing it... half hour taking your time. I used to do it every day as a kid... I lived in North Cape May, and all my friends lived in Cape May. Not a big deal.

As far as how the breaks are these days... it's true they're not the same. But conditions should be pretty good.

what everyone else said. and they may not even run the ferry if the swell and winds end up being what is forecasted.
