Driving from the Gulf Coast to shoot some photos, and surf near Reef Road area for Monday and Tuesday. Just wondering if you can camp on the beach at or near reef road. Been tracking the swell and looks like Tuesday morning could be the best bet. Trying to wake up to some glass. Is camping allowed? and if not where would be the nearest place?
I doubt you'll get away with camping on palm beach island. They will kick you out in a second. They make sure no poor people are on the island after dark, no joke if you dont have a car that looks like you live there you must leave. Anywhere to camp near West Palm would be tough since its so urban. There is a better chance of you getting away with camping anywhere other than palm beach. I'm sure if you pitch a tent somewhere on the beach your screwed. Ive spent a night or two on the beach with some young ladies but all we had was a blanket.
I'm in Jupiter. I know some people leave cars on beach rd cause they live right there. We used to have parties where we just park a couple board walks away. You might be able to do the same kinda thing. Althougb Palm Beach looks like it could be pumping out some good old blue barrels
Thanks for the advice, probably will end up in jupiter, and just make the drive early. Also heard that Pumphouse looked good yesterday. Hopefully we will all get one cleanup day!
dont bother, you might get away with it in stuart, fires are obviously a no go along with beer in jupiter atleast. them sheriffs been real strict for years now
Yea, Sheriffs Dept. would love to give you a cot and 3 squares for pitching a tent after sunset, fire...I would hate to think of what they would do for that...lol
Hahaha camping at reef road? No wayyyy. You're lucky to come back from a 2 or 3 hour surf there without getting a trespass by vehicle ticket for parking, and that's during the day. Keep in mind that's IF the waves even show. I can't count the amount of times the vero buoys been cranking 6 ft north swell and I've pulled up to the old knee-waist high skunk. Palm beach and southward is very fickle and rarely has the size some fairly close spots to the north pull in. You'll probably be better off and have alot more fun surfing around juno or jupiter.
