Why not just wait and see who did this before we start suggesting who is responsible. Until we know who did it all we are doing is just throwing mud at the walls and hoping some sticks. When the facts are found, then we all can have more intelligent conversation / debate on this.

But to the point of the muslim american population better get its act together... as a society we exhibit group behaviour that is measurable accross different races. For example.... when the irish first came to america... they were confronted with racism. "irish need not apply" in every store window. they lived in slums. collectively a large number of irish became police officers and other civil servants.... all that prejudice sh$t came to an end and they became productive members of our society.
The good and honest muslim americans are going to suffer as time goes on if muslims continue to carry out terror acts here in america. no matter whats going on abroad. There won't be any stopping the stereotyping that naturally occurs when repeated acts are carried out by people of the same race/religion. That's why the changes must be spearheaded from with in the muslim community.... or would you rather every muslim suffer under racial profiling?
To start, Islam is A RELIGION, not a race, so it's really not all that comprable to the Irish coming to America. Muslims come from a diverse ethnic and racial background.

The stereotyping that "naturally occurs" is only propagated by comments like yours. The Muslim-American population is no different than any other demographic. It's not their responsibility to make the rest of the country cease its bigotry. It's your responsibility, and mine, and everyone else's, NOT to make generalizations based on an individual's religion, race, or ethnicity.

What do you propose Muslim-Americans do to spearhead this change? Become everyday members of society? THEY ARE. You want more Muslim police officers? At that point you'll change your views? There are plenty. How about the Muslim-Americans that constitute some of the leading healthcare professionals in the country? Not enough for you? We can play this game all day. Take responsibility for how you view the world, and get out from under this guise of societal group behavior s*** you're spewing. It's not the job of Muslim-Americans to make people see Muslims as humans like you and me.

I completely concur. My original post was intended only to stop people from recklessly blaming easy targets.

learn how to digest the content of the written language. Im talking about the good and honest muslims in america ultimately suffering from the what the animal extremists continue to do under the name of islam. I probably know more muslims than you do. And I feel badly for them because I know that when most americans are asked what a terrorist looks like, the image of a muslim appears in their mind. And if this boston bombing is found to be another muslim.... then what?

Is this a serious comment? What have we been talking about? You seem to think Muslim-Americans have a responsibility to make other people not prejudiced against them. You then used the Irish coming to the United States as a (poor, off-base) example of how this has, in your mind, happened in the past.

so....you arent aware that one who practices islam is a muslim? god man not only are you ignorant your probably dumber then the sand they renourish our beaches with. Usually i would not recommend this to anyone on a surf forum but, maybe a few more days in the school learning and not in the water would have helped you have an iq higher then a rock.
