A couple of my friends did that for a year through the Basque Country, Spain and Southern France.

This was over a decade ago, so not sure if the program is the same.

it's about the same, just more organized which is better because there's less of a chance of getting stuck in a bad situation. don't know if it would be the same farm though

pr you come home with still about half that live solid and it will be decent almost everyday before the wind picks up on north side .plus if your there that long you will score atleast a half a dozen bombing swells i would think i go every year for jan thru feb always score and always come home with cash usually enough to fly back for a week or so for another tatical strike in mid march

i went to pr for 2 weeks this year it was super fun and it got epic... but the crowds, and therefore vibe in the water was horrible a tactical strike in the late season isnt out but i have very little desire to be told "gringo get the **** out of here" every sesh no matter how respectful you are

thats why i say north side not san juan but isabela and aguadilla super chill if you know where to go there sooooo many breaks surfed quite a few times with just me and a friend and def some secret little gems of the beaten path as far as rincon goes yeah thats about the worst crowd on the planet until it gets big but most of the waves overthere are slow and no barrels until its 12 feet anyway and if your down there for a couple months i your a cool dude your gonna make a ton of friends if you show respect i donno bro id give it anothrt shot sounds like you mighta just had a bad experience but yeah if you were in rincon that sounds about right good luck also if you got the loot check out galapogas might be alittle to expensive for three months though

Just don't try to smuggle large amounts of contraband or you may end up on that show "Locked Up Abroad".

Australia or Hawaii, man...with $7,000, do it up, right!

I've been to both (I'm considering Azores to be Portugal) You could do Morocco for really cheap after airfare. There's loads to great places to camp. I actually didn't feel unsafe in Morocco, not to say there aren't dangers lurking but we got out and experienced a lot of the country and loved it. We generally stayed out of the bigger cities as much as possible though. You can buy beer at the grocery stores too so don't think it's "dry" The place is loaded with French surfers and most of em can't surf for **** and there French so.... Azores is awesome. I could actually see living there. It's not the cheapest place to visit but definitely friendly vibes. The surf we got was pretty powerful and not too crowded (like in Nica, El Salvador, etc...) plus it's probably the most beautiful place I've ever been (Morocco ranks right up there too) Having said all that, if you would be OK with traveling solo in Central America I don't think you would have a problem going solo in Morocco. I would try to fly into Agadir and stay away from Marrakech though. If you could find a cheap place to stay in the Azores I would highly recommend there also. The positives would be there's surf on all sides of the island and the negatives would be the possibility of bad weather depending on when you go. Good luck!
