    Question New England surf

I am planning a surf trip to NH or ME in AUG/SEPT. The purpose is to give a lesson to my niece and her boyfriend who both are very anxious to try it out. They live in VT now but are from The Cape and really want to get started. I'm looking for a mellow break that is consistant (for the east coast) in NH or southern ME. The ideal situation would be a hotel within walking distance of a good surf shop (rental wetsuits and a good selection for sale) and a mellow break. I know, the best made plans.... If you have any recommendations, please PM them to me. THANKS!

You would probably find better surf on the Cape..why not just meet them there?

^+1. Cape Cod National Seashore has nearly 40 miles of beaches. It has been pretty consistent.

One other thought.. this thread had a video profiling a Maine surfer:
