Well Spicoli, I just returned home from a shred. My eyes are stinging and my left ear/side of my head is stuffed-the-F-up.
Surf was almost doing it, but not quite.
I saw a couple cool dogs and two dolphins.
God bless you, Spicoli.
PB&J, a true gentleman and a scholar.
PM me with where you charged. I'm bout to roll out once I discern what's worth the ride for tonight/tomorrow in the northeast. You may be too far in the Mid-Atlantic for a two-day trip though. Save that for storm chasin.
There acid rain in the waters at your jetty? I find myself running nose buddah throughout most sessions, but I haven't became ill out of the water even at rainy rivermouths. Did have a cough a few weeks back but the long-acting cough syrup helped that malady.
Were those pups a mating? I know the dolphins were. Those horny bastards!
I'm talking what the actual wave faces are. I don't care what the swells are doing in the open ocean. I care about the waves at my favorite jetty. It don't matter if it's a 6 foot swell at 3 seconds or a 3 foot swell at twenty seconds........all I care aboot is the actual height of the wave faces.........at my favorite jetty.
So if Belmar was five foot due to a 2.5 swell height at 20 seconds.......you'd call the waves 2 foot or 5 foot?
Oh Yankee, what the hecks is the "tenth man rule?" Aw man, what kind of insult is that? Man, everyone is so vicious around here. It's safer in Camden.
I would call anything over 15 seconds in Belmar a closeout.
So the Dorian swell is finally here and it's disappointing to say the least. Looks like it's semi-closing out most places here. 111 degrees ESE is a bit too much east for here. We need closer to 130 degrees.
the universe actually aligned for me to catch some good ones yesterday, thank's Dorian! I surfed Indialantic in the morning and satellite beach in the afternoon (central florida) on an old friend's McTavish Original 9'1. Surf built to about chest high, maybe head on the rogue sets. Had a blast, enjoyed the clear warm water of CFL.
Same size and shape on the Eastern Shore yesterday. Tues was a bit disappointing, knee to thigh but Wed was almost perfect. The only thing that could have made it better is if it were a few feet bigger. No wind, perfectly clean, easy paddling, nice interval and no kooks. Water visibility was great too.
How's anyone here have aggro lately if they're getting days like this even 1-2 times a week? Damn. If not for the Carver board, I'd be setting up consecutive Slip & Slides down hilltops and taking the skegs off the stick.
