haha more like real shark bait are boogie boarders! ive done both (I think everyone body boards as a kid) but the point of view from standing up is far nicer than a foot from the wave. boogie boarding is so easy I feel many of those guys resorted to it because they couldn't surf or deal with the slow progression of surfing. imo.

There are like 50 of these existing threads... so it gets old after a while.
If you have to prove to yourself, why one form of wave riding is better then the other, then your not doing it right.

The one thing for sure that is true about bodyboarding (or body surfing for that matter to) is feeling the wave. As a kid we all body boarded and both my girls learned to bodyboard before they got on a surfboard. Its a stage like evolution of surfing.... some evolved some sponge But whatever floats your boat..err board is fine by me.

Except for Kite surfing....go fly away somewhere!

And Micah, what's a "schlong?" Is it like a "schlort?"

As far as sticking **** in the wave, when I am surfing frontside in overhead tubes I use that particular move as a tube stalling technique. Get's me real deep.

If trolling is writing a funny thought I have about a situation than I am guilty. Just do not understand the bodyboarder, I know it's fun I have tried it, but surfing is so much more of a challenge. Oh well... to each his own and at least we all like it wet.

hmmmm....Considering I snowboard and know how to ice skate very well. Both very technical. I don't think that's the case at all. Ever try paddling a boogie board in overheard beach break? Paddling a surfboard is far easier in comparison. Also, if you look at the difficulty of some of the bodyboarding tricks and contrast that with the fact that, learning how to stand on the board is by far the sharpest part of the learning curve of surfing you can see that the difference in difficulty is not as big as you think. Most people don't progress to the level of kelly slater or anywhere even close to that.

Honestly, I don't care about difficulty level anyway. It's about what's most fun, not what's most difficult.

Skiing/snowboarding ice/crap conditions is really difficult. Doesn't make if fun. Just makes it a ****ty time compared to fresh powder. I'm not comparing surfing to that. I'm just saying just because something is challenging doesn't mean it's better.

skim boarding is to surfing - as - skiing is to snow boarding

boogie boarding is to surfing - as - learning how to walk is to hiking the Appalachian trail.
