Here's the latest...looks like service will begin soon - take a night to stop in Portland on your way...you never know who you can run into here...bumped into Tony Hawk on a Sunday night in an empty Bull Feeney's - also Novare Res is a first rate beer establishment with a great setting
Interesting...going to block island in September for a week...preying for surf. Nova Scotia may be on tap for the fall of 2015 with this ferry. Love surfing the New England area. Point breaks, rocky coastlines, and IMO, when firing, there is no better place on the east coast for surfing. When younger, Use to head in that direction every fall...surfed Maine, NH, Mass, and Rhode Island. Nova Scotia needs to be checked off.
If I recall, the ferry is a bit pricey. Rates come down in the fall, but I think it's still $80-$100 per person. Better and cheaper than driving, I suppose. The upside is the prospect of hanging with my boys, Ricky, Julian and Bubbles over in Halifax. I'll kick Cyrus square in the d!(k if I see him.
When firing. That's like saying I'm a great guy any day I'm not being myself.
I'm so down for NS as soon as this dinghy fires up.
You ever charged Vermont bro? Champlain goes off on the reg with the ill wind swell. AggroNE smacks the lip on the sweet Caroline cutback.
Did Lake Ontario from Selkirk this past Nov when I was home visiting...lake waves are tough to navigate, but caught a few nice rides! At the east end of the lake & northeast end waves can get B I G at the right spots (just not as organized as what I've seen on Superior).
I know a lot of local businesses are really hoping for the ferry thing to get sorted. Fall is the best time, however anything decent with an E component and good period gets the points and reefs going. Spring can be great too, NO BUGS and it's mellow before school let's out..Actually, it's always mellow except up around the city at popular spots it can get a little testy. There is so many spots just off the beaten track it's insane. Get a Nova Scotia Atlas and just work your way up from Yarmouth.
