You're an idiot. Lacrosse is the fastest game on two feet.

No need compadre, enjoyed the story. I honestly wanted to play lacrosse when I was a kid, but there were no organized leagues then. I played hockey growing up, honestly the only team sport I enjoyed playing(and the only one i could still watch and understand), so lacrosse seemed like a natural extension. Now that I think of it, my previous statement to raping frat boys was probably intended towards those that played rugby, b/c now in retrospect, i cant remember any that played lacrosse...so I should prob retract that and gear it towards just raping frat boys.

Playing against the Iroquois, descendants of the games' inventors, is definitely cool in my book.

Hey Yank, I grew up in Syracuse. My school didn't have a team but we played sandlot on weekends with the
Onondaga tribe. Ash sticks no pads. Lots of black and blue fore arms... Good times no rapists...

You know what? Lacrosse guys should wear those field hockey skirts that the chicks do. HA, ahh man, that got you guys good on that one. Some of you are probably fuming right now, ha ha ha, fighting the instinct to call mummsy and daddsy to help you out here, just like that college date rape charge you beat.

But ha, daddy can't help you with this. Now, you calm yourselves down before work tomorrow at JP Morgan Chase, and stop sexually harrassing your secretary. Don't worry bros, you still have all your hair and look fantastic. And next weekend is your time to meet up with all the other college jocks and relive your frat boy glory days.

I can imagine playing street hockey with the bros, back in the day, and suggesting we play lacrosse. HA, oh man, they would have thought I was totally fruity. It's ashame I never learned how to ice skate because I would have just retired five years ago from the NHL. Yeah, Claude, I was that good. I'd deke the Sh!t out of all of youse.

Upstate NY lacrosse, then, was a bunch of hard-drinkin' pot smokin' workin'-class athletic misfits playing a sport that nobody really gave a rat's arse about & that only girlfriends & family would come out to watch. Understandable, since in our home opener in 19** they had to use snowplows to clear the artificial turf so we could roll. Springtime in upstate NY...talk about a misnomer.

Thee was this one Saturday pre-season game where we played a team from the nearby Iroquois rez. They got off their bus, filed in real quiet, none of 'em over 5'7. Built like tanks, all squatty bodies. We had all the lighweight gear, the metal shaft sticks, the lightweight pads. The Iroquois had sticks made from ash trees, really solid, heavy wood. Most had no pads on. Some of our guys kinda snickered.

First face off, I came up with it, started to cradle & look downfield when WHAM! this little dude slammed his stick so hard on my forearms I thought for sure he'd broken my wrist. Talk about a takeaway. With authority. And maybe more than a bit of vengeance, too.

We got destroyed by those guys. DE-stroyed. In the locker room some of us looked like we'd been flogged from all the cross-checking & whipsawing.

It was their game, and they wanted us to know that. Much respect in that handshake line.

When we played in the Dome or at Ithaca, people would come out to watch though. Anyways, America in general has become spoiled rotten, so hearing this about how the lax players are now doesn't surprise me.
    Was this HS or college?
