Don't shoot the messenger...this is what our local weather/surfer person say about our long range forecast. Maybe Levi didn't blow this call after all. What do you think?

Just my opinion here but when I see forecasters making claims like

"Should see our first hurricane by Sept 3/4."

and posting model maps with no date, scale, or any other information other than what looks like an impressive storm between Florida and Bermuda 10 days from now I think its kind of irresponsible, or at least lazy. Does the purple mean 30, 50, 80mph winds? Its just a model, and the models have been forecasting stuff like this to happen 10 days out for pretty much the past month. Why is this forecaster confident that now it "should" happen. No details....Where's Jeff Lyons on this?...that guy I trust.

Anyway...i'm stoked for it. Tired of this non-stop small wind swell.

Apparently this forecaster has much more education then you and I put together in meteorology, that is an assumption, sorry if you hold a sheepskin in meteorology. But I don't think its irresponsible, I think its just forecasting. Mr. Weiland has more information than you and I could even imagine at his finger tips, c'mon Mitchell don't be such a doubter, its just that time of the season.

If you all look on the 180 hr. swell map Mr. Swellinfo has a storm in the Central Caribbean moving our way....hmmm...its not time to get excited yet but its something to talk about.

Actually I meant Jeff Masters anyway. Jeff Lyons...LOL.

Sorry...I'm usually frothing about these things as much as anyone. This summer is kind of beating down my stoke.

Lets see if it pans out. Basically he's saying there "SHOULD be a hurricane by September 3/4", and put up a map with a bulls eye.

No worries, its been really flat everywhere this summer and I'm frothing to...like I said earlier, Swellinfo has a storm in the Cental Caribbean at the 180hr. time frame, it just might happen...hopefully, maybe, possibly.

Here is Mr. Wielands live show...it starts @8:30 tonight...

stay tuned, fom Jeff Masters' latest:

It looks like it might be knuckle-gnawing time for residents of the Atlantic's hurricane alley next week, as an active pattern moves into place for the climatological peak two-week period of the Atlantic hurricane season.
a detailed look to be posted later today..
