It was crazy, I saw a bunch of HUGE, dead jellies on the beach, but I never saw any in the water, I just got out and had serious stinging rashes. Big one on my chest. But there are vinegar waters hanging up like every 10 feet by the city of Hilton Head on every public beach. It was just weird how when I was in the water, the whole lineup was talking about getting stung every 5 minutes but I never saw the bastards.

most the ones you see washed up are cannon balls which dont sting and moon jellys which dont really hurt, idk the bad ones which i never see only get stung by are the sea wasps you wont normally see them washed up. wait till you get hit by a man o war youll want to leave the water for a month.

Yeah, the canon ball jellies are actually a delicacy in Asia. Rather harmless. I hear the sea nettles are bad. I am not sure what hit me, but I have some nice rashes. I will try the meat tenderizer next time.

I don't know where you're located but this year hasn't been to bad up north... I've had times where everytime I check I've got the small ones on my suit and in my hands. I just use aloe if there too bad, but most of the time I just try to weigh the pleasure I get from surfing above the stings from jellyfish and the chance of getting a shark taking one of my legs lol.

Wow, you sure are sensitive. That must be a soul surfer thing. I was just poking at Fitz, in case you missed the net humor. Who is crying? Are you crying, young soul surfer?

They are worse than I have ever seen them in SC. I haven't been stung more than a couple times in the last 5 years here. However, to be hit non stop in a short period of time seems rather odd. My buddy who has surfed this area for 20 years has also commented that it has been a bad year (or specifically a bad August). I wasn't aware that we weren't supposed to discuss any ocean sea life activity on here.

yeah oddly enough i herd something about a company wanted to start up around hear to catch them all and sell them to Asian countries, they come in huge blooms you know and usually have other unfriendly jellies with them, i ran into a bloom today thats when the arms and legs go sky high and i just drift by.

Cannonball jellies are the best bait and chum for catching Spadefish.
