one of the reasons I bought a round nose hybrid. The board I was riding before had a lot of grovelly features, but the nose was still mid size/pointy. Whenever I'd walk up that pointy nose to glide a flat spot to the reform or try to finish a small wave all the way to the beach, the nose would get super unstable/squirrelly and usually make me fall.

So I read an interview that GQ did with the twerking surf chica, Anastasia Ashley or whatever her nom de idiot is. She said she loves to bring her waterproof music player into the ocean & sing along/ rap along as she sits in the lineup waiting for set waves.
Dorky...? Or just like clemmy ...?

GQ: Do you warm up like that every time you surf, or just for contests?
Anastasia Ashley: It's mostly a pre-contest thing. Usually before I surf at home, I listen to music in my car, and I put on my bathing suit or wetsuit and kind of jam out. I just like to get amped up. And now that I've started actually surfing with music, that's like a whole other level of awesome.

GQ: How do you do it—just waterproof cases for everything?
Anastasia Ashley: Yeah, I put my phone in what they call a LifeProof. It's pretty awesome, I just put it in blast it. People look at me like I'm crazy because I rap or sing along to a lot of music. After doing it, I can't work out without music at all. Like I can't get into it, you know?

GQ: Do you worry that this video will overshadow your accomplishments, or do you feel that it's just nice to get the attention?
Anastasia Ashley: I don't know. I always feel like I've been out there, and that people will try to take away from my accomplishments, but I know what I've done, so, I know I'm 100% focused on myself—so that's what's important, you know?

    Again, with the lame snippets...?

You have this odd self-image, clemmy, wherein you see your gleaming pate as that of a humorist, but you're just not a funny guy.

And, you choose to miss the point of posts.

Starting to smell like troll in these parts.

Yankee, you got a crush on me? My name seems to be coming out of your virtual mouth pretty often these days. Hmmm things coming out of your mouth, thats a change for you isn't it.

But I digress, and I also apologize for the low blow. If you don't think I'm funny... well, I don't really care. Do you want to ban me from SI? Why don't you just block my posts? I don't think you're the voice of the forum but your opinion does matter. Even if it matters only to you.

I think you're generally negative, mean and you seem unhappy. That's why I nominated you for Hater of the Year. You might have gotten offended but I think you liked the attention too.... You're welcome.

And the point.... What's the point? These threads are more confused than you are. It's like leaving your keys in the car in PJB's neighborhood, they're going to get hijacked. You seemed to miss the point of this whole thread. A lighthearted thread where we can poke fun at ourselves for our own dorky/kooky habits rather than talk about wetsuits, evangelicalism, nuclear fallout, icebergs, 23 foot waves or anything NJ. You hijacked this thread with the twerking girl but that's cool, like I said, I left the keys in the car with the AC on.

This is great. I really like the use of the term "surfing boards".

I like how every hurricane season the surfers of Kook Paradise pray that the surf goes back down.

So I paddled out on my longboard this afternoon, it was about a foot, so I paddled down the beach for a workout, and caught a few ankle slappers. The last wave, on the way back, I took off, did a full drop knee bottom turn, angled down the line, got into deep crouch( and as I was dreaming of Angola) and shot down the line. At the end as I approached the beach I stood up tall and started flapping my arms like a bird. As I got out of the water I saw two tourist ladies actually giving me applause. I was totally embarrassed, but I owe it to this thread for being so painfully aware of how much of a surf dork I am. Can't wait to try some new dork maneuvers. Thanks all for keeping the ideas flowing, so to speak.
