I love putting meat on the table but I don't get the opportunity as often as i used to. Now it's mostly a pellet pistol vs. plant destroying squirrels in the back yard.

In high school I'd trap furry critters all xmas break to help pay for my spring break surf trips.

As far as concealed carry, I don't have a permit yet but plan to in the next few months. I need to visit a range to try different trigger actions (double/single action) and safeties. I grew up with shotguns and I don't think I could get used to not having a safety. I'd be dropping a clip when the sh!t hit the fan instead of taking care of business.

So yeah, I'm all for the 2nd amendment. It guarantees the rest will not be infringed upon.

I once shot a squirrel with a BB gun after pumping it like 10 times. I hit it right in the face. It flopped off the tree, hit the ground with a thud and proceeded to flip out all over the place. When it finally came to rest I used a shovel to toss it lacrosse-style over the fence. Words cannot describe how bad I felt. I've never shot anything since.

I really enjoy shooting skeet. Around here you can go to any of the spoil islands between the ICW and the beach (TI, Lee, Fig8, WB, Mase) and shoot skeet any time of the year, but fall is by far the best. I haven't done it in a couple years and am really itching to get back out there, just fell out of the routine.

We use the biodegradable skeet even though they have more tendency to break apart when launched.

That said, IMO everyone should own a shotgun.

*edit* Within reason of course. I just feel it's important to be familiar with using a gun and either a shotgun or revolver are perfect for doing that.

If I had owned a gun, I would have been in prison a long time ago. Well, look at me being so pessimistic......maybe I wouldn't have gotten caught? Nahh, would have been too drunk to be smooth..........

Don't you gun guys ever get all Lynryd Skynryd drunk and then get pissed-off? I wish someone would shut some dude from Texas up.

Spicoli, how come poor minority neighborhoods are so violent? Ain't nothing poorer than whitey in the Appalachians, but they ain't dropping crackers every day. Please explain that. Does urban environments create more violent-prone individuals?

Alcohol, guns and pick-up trucks - now that's being a man. AN AMERICAN MAN. Oh yeah, eatin' beef, too. Now that's manly stuff.

And Studlee, that's what I always say......aboot gays, drugs and guns.............

Legalize it all and let God sort it out. Everything is illegal in this country yet we keep calling ourselves free. I don't need a damn law to cross a friggin street.

    I love you, Spicoli.

They were given high density housing with hopes that the HIV and/or crack would wipe them all out. If only I could have been in the FBI/CIA in the 60's... they had all the fun.

Not to get sidetracked, but this is a widely documented conspiracy theory. Supposedly, crack was facilitated into these projects with that specific purpose....during the War on Drugs.
