    So is the conclusion pointing to Roy as the Jesus of surfing? I'm cool with that. I don't know how Roy feels but if someone compared me to Jesus I would be honored

    I just tell people I'm his cousin. The name is what the local Maori call me in the town I'm living in. At my home break some call me Bowser. in the 80's it was Seagull. I've also been called worse things.

    Roy I've mentioned in some threads before that I've been to New Zealand. While there I visited a Maori tribe on the South Island. I had the Privilege to sleep in one of their meeting houses. Kiakura. (Spelling ?) the meeting house was decorated with art beyond my belief. And sculptures of green stone... Amazing stuff.

    The Maori are a very cool people. I liked how the ATM machines had Maori as a language of choice.
