ya, I'm aware of this data. they don't have this in the standard NDBC data format, which complicates things a bit. But, it's my home area, so I do want to get this data, so I'll put it on the to-do list.

its prob gonna be tough to do...i know the Corps people who deployed the nearshore buoys, and have corresponded by e-mail with the NDBC and they mentioned that the Corps buoys don't put out the data in the NDBC format. You probably know dave legates or dan leathers in the UD Climatogy Program. They managed to serve up these nearshore buoys (and even convert the meters to feet) on the DEOS website: http://www.deos.udel.edu/current_retrieval.html
Good luck with it...i've noticed that if you really start using the nearshore buoys a lot, they tell you a lot more about whats going on surfwise than 44009. Especially with the directional data they have.
