no kidding - lines stacked up to the horizon. 7 or 8 lines of whitewater translates into 7 or 8 duck-dives...

And I'm not turning this into a Tupac/Biggie argument, but I was BLOWN away, when New York got that ASP event last year. It was down to two places. OB SF and New York. I understand that the market in NY was untapped, but damn.... To see the worlds best lineup against some sh** in OB #2, that would have been pretty epic.... They would have skis out and the whole 9.... And it aint no pipeline reef break with a clear cut lineup and takeoff zone. Guys would be getting demolished on some of those waves. Those peaks detonate all over the place. Those rouges would be straight hammering guys that aren't familiar with the area. Even the worlds best. ... Would have been SICK to see.

if youre interested in surfing OB then you gotta read this article called playing doc's games. it was in the new yorker in like 93. shows you how crazy you gotta be to surf there. its probly been posted on here before but its worth the read. take some over the holidays to read it. awesome piece of literature.

idk, but if you get in trouble, it's unlikely anyone else will even see you, let alone be in a position to help you.

Some of the best writing, ever, in surfing lit as it were. Wasn't that the article where the guy would call up the woman at the coast and, to get the size of the waves, since she couldn't measure it in feet, he would ask her how many refrigerators could be stacked inside a wave & that's how he got the wave size that he would disseminate in his daily surf report....? Awesome!
Put that in your pipe & smoke it, techno forecasters!
