Philly has an inferiority complex. It used to bet THE place in this country. Then, over the centuries, became a filthy hole between the economic epicenter of New York and political powerhouse of Washington DC.

Infoplease.com has already released one of them " Most Dangerous City" thangs for 2013. And they even split it into small, medium and large cities.

Camden, NJ (which actually posts stats that places violent crime somewhere between Honduras and Somalia - Local officials checked UN data last year after they cut the police force in half........how's aboot that Spicoli) of course took top honors in small cities. Props to Trenton for taking 3rd. And special recognition goes to EMass's Brockton for taking 8th. Wow, that's surprising, Brockton stepping-it-up in the thug world(APPLAUSE).

Props to Newark, NJ for its 7th place finish in the medium city category.

And congratulations Zach619, Baltimore took 2nd in big cities. Of course Detroit won.

Philly came in a disappointing 4th place, sitting behind Memphis. Yes, pretty embarrassing.

We will note the many placings of Texas towns in the SAFEST PLACES categories.

One will also note that the Philadelphia area has: Philly(#4), Camden(#1) sits right across the Delaware River, Trenton(#3) is twenty miles up the Delaware River. Wow, that area is hard as can. And spunky little Wilmington, DE, which frequently makes these lists these days, is just south of the area. Wow, that whole area is hard as as can. And add in Emass's favorite city Chester, PA and, like, wow..........

    He's Beetle
    He's as bad as can
And he know he is the best
    This is Beetle
    This is bad as can
And he knows he is the best
I think that you and I may have had this conversation, but Philly was originally in the state of Maryland. Before the mason dixon line was drawn, Maryland gave the city to PA, I believe in exchange for the "nation's capital" changing to DC. I had never heard that in high school or college, but saw it on same random TV show explaining how all the state lines were drawn. I never knew that Philly used to be owned by the old line state. That was a pretty big sacrifice for MD to give it up. Can you imagine having Baltimore, DC and Philly all within the Maryland state borders. Talk about a potential power house!

I have never spent a ton of time in Philly, but in college, i had some friends that were big in the "hiphop" scene and I travelled up to South Street (I think it was) and went to a few different art and music venues, and I was really blown away by what a cool scene it was. Not the normal, gun toting thuggary that accompanies Baltimore shows. They were doing everything on a much bigger scale up there. It was a pretty cool scene. It wasn't 3 white people including me at a 200 person show like it was in Baltimore. It was much more a poetic, open mic kind of art scene. I have never had a bad time in Philly. It was always good to me when I was there. I have never had the pleasure of attending a sporting event up there, I hear that is how you truly witness the "city of brotherly love"

Well, I don't think you went to a "Thug Approved" "Hip-Hop" show. Especially back in your college days, African American clubs, downtown, had constant violent incidents. If there was mucho white boys at your shows, there's a reason for that. A big reason.

You insinuate that Philly's a nice place because you didn't get whacked-off on South Street or The Art Museum.......? Those are, like, two of the biggest tourist areas besides the historical stuff.

That's like me saying Baltimore is sissy because I went to the Harbor/Aquarium and didn't see any G-Town Thugsters walking around. Jeez, National Geographic's Drugs Inc hasn't even done anything on Baltimore.

Spending a day at The Betsy Ross House and eating a cheese steak on South St doesn't mean you explored Philly. Why would you think you know Philly by just spending limited time in a five block radius in center city?

Doesn't Baltimore have a downtown also? Is it the same as the West Side?

Oh, the next time your up in Philly, around the 13th & Locust area you can get some killer transvestite hookers after dark.

Oh, I looked Baltimore is leading so far in 2014 with 8 homicides so far. Philly only has 7. Congrats.

I still say Philly has better diesel. Jeez, Baltimore, like most of the country, don't even know how to bag the stuff. Man, you don't put it in plastic rock bags for God's sakes. And gel caps?? OY VEY !!

And what's the deal with the "scramble vs raw" ? Scramble, I don't want eggs, cracker. Raw? Man, that's stepped-on, so why you calling it raw? You know what it is that I be sayin'?

Zach, you come up here some day, and I'll show you some waves....real good waves better than SAND DIEGO and we'll hang out at clubs on Allegheny Ave. and then go to Hope St. and then we'll ride the subways including the EL which will give you a decent tour of the city and we'll hang out on Market St in West Philly and get creepy under the train tracks buying love from locals with our Hope St goods.

Leave your wife and kids at home. Of course, I expect a reciprocating tour of Baltimore.

And course I've seen The Wire. I cried when Bhodie got popped. Best show ever.

Of course I will give you the grand tour of harm city. Blodymore nurderland etc. etc. But seriously, I was being polite in my last post. I was not even talking about crime and thugs in that post. I was saying that I was legitimately impressed that you had thinking people in the same club that didn't shoot each other or wear bullet proof vests on stage. I was not being antagoniztic. Having only been there a few times, I never attempted to go on the "ghetto driving tour"... I was just saying that I had a heck of a time in Philly and the people were cool. The music was cool. The music scene in Baltimore was a direct reflection of lack of education and vocabulary. The music was ignorant and horrendous. I was just saying that Philly was a cool town when I went there. I was in a small, isolated area that was nice. Yes, the inner harbor is nice. You usually won't get robbed at gun point there. USUALLY. All the locals in the ghettos used to get all bent out of shape because all the money from tourism etc would get dumped into the downtown area to keep people coming. They would always ask why the money never made it to the outskirts of the city. I would simply say, people dont come to baltimore to take driving tours of abandoned housing. Maybe if they would stop robbing anyone would left the 10 block radius, then they would get some love...

My wifes whole family was from the city. Not the county. The east and north east of Baltimore city. They are very bitter and angry at the state of the whole town. They, like everyone else got driven out to the suburbs because their neighborhoods went to sh**. My wife grew up in a beautiful neighborhood in the city. We drove out to see the house she grew up in a few years ago... Quite scary. a complete sh** hole now. Sad....

And I am not keen on all the drug references, but since kids in baltimore usually don't make it past the 5th grade before turning to the drug trade to support themselves, it doesnt surprise me that they use the wrong bags.... And its a HOT DOG!!!! NOT A HOT DUG! DAMNIT!

And you mofos are crazy. Who knew putting cheese wiz on a steak sandy would be so fu**ing delicious.

But, we may have to play it safe on your tour of baltimore. I showed up downtown in boardies and flip flops a few years ago and my ghetto pass was revoked for life I think. Every block I walked down, people kept saying FIVE OH and walking away... Im like guys, its cool. "What, you going swimming white boy"... "COP! COP"... Bastards.... I lost my touch a long time ago. I knew I shouldnt have thrown away those timberland boots and my ankle length, 5XL white tees.

I got a 40 shot sequence of few good ones , fully covered and then spit right out .
shot five is so sweet. Dedication. Its what makes the NE surfer a surfer. If it was this cold in Hawaii, surfing would have never been invented. RESPECT!

When's someone gonna keep it real and talk about commercial chicken vendors? It's unwritten SI bro code now that the ratio of N/S posts to chicken posts stays at least 8:1. Keep the waters clean braddahs!
