The clusters of t-storms training off Africa look promising. Is it true that they need to exit the coast above 10 degrees north to have a chance and when does the season really get going?
storms don't usually develop south of 10 degrees N, simply because conditions aren't favorable. Here's what the NHC says about the area of thunderstorms:
A tropical wave located about 1000 miles east of the Windward
Islands is moving westward near 20 mph. Although this system shows
some signs of organization...upper-level winds are forecast to
remain unfavorable for development.
