    Question Cabo Wabo

going to cabo san lucas from the 21st to the 26th. Im bringing a couple shortboards. I know there are good spots facing south all over the tip of baja but with a big west swell coming in I'm wondering what the best surf spots are on the western side of southern baja...

Cerritos is your best bet on a west, even some NW's break there. It's about 1-1 1/2 hours out of Cabo.

Before you bail on Cabo, check on Monuments. It might pick up swell that most of Costa Azul will miss.

Cabo is a good time. Have not been in a while but you should have a blast. There are a few breaks you could check out. Dont be worried about trespassing at a few spots, the signs are just decoration

do yourself a favor and grab the "surfers guide to baja". that will give you some good direction for breaks on the west coast. definitely check out cerritos, but go eslewhere too and dont be afraid to explore a bit. cerritos is a lot different now though.

did the road trip from San Diego to Cabo back in 2003 and it was a lifechanging trip for me. that book got us down and back and saved our lives, plus got us into some fun surf. you will not be dissapointed.

I 2nd Cerritos...I don't think there is that much more north of there, at least without a decent drive.

there are a couple of good breaks in Todos Santos, about another 1/2 click north of Cerritos, on the road to La Paz. Kinda fun to check out, but a takes a little searching on some typical Baja-style roads just out of town. If you're into that stuff, ya know. If it's breaking, the crowds will be considerably smaller than in Cerritos. But then again, you won't be walking out of the surf directly towards the bar for cervezas and ceviche.

Todos Santos is a great little town with some great restaurants and a cool little surf shop. Kinda geared more towards Mexican tourists than visiting gringos, which makes it mo bettah.

FYI, the town of Todos Santos is *not* the same as Todos Santos Island, which is located off the coast from Ensenada.

Yes surf Cerritos or some of the secret spots just north of there.
Then have Mexican dinner in Todos Santos.
Then drive back to Cabo with setting sun playing Hotel California on your radio.
    Perfect day
