    Glamorous?

I lost my best friend to heroin. There is nothing cool about it, I promise.

The opiate based pills that so many people gobble these days are the same thing. Pill users like to kid themselves about that.

Information about opiate use and addiction isn't top secret. I'll never understand why a person would choose to make a perilous left turn down Opiate Way, knowing it's a bad street.

Agreed on the perils. And well-said, D. But where is this thread coming from...?

Just wondering if I missed something other than MIS going Defcon8 on Billy, with Spicoli attempting to referee.

Oh, not there really. Oops. The word came from there I guess. I heard the sirens yesterday in Seaside for one of the deaths and someone just sent me the link. I just wanted to share this link and a few thoughts on dope. This is a bad batch and I don't like when people die. Not spreading potentially life saving information of this nature seems evil. Admittedly, I'm not cool with glorifying opiates in any way. Strange, I know.

Good luck finding affordable rehab. The only thing that saved the junkies in my family was being tossed in the hoosgow for a few months. What a coincidence that there's another conflict in Asia and another heroin out break in Yoo Ess. Mission Accomplished.

Mitigating this issue can be tricky. I believe "loving the sinner, hating the sin" is a best, yet challenging approach. With addicts it is dicey & requires wisdom & discernment, as they are enslaved to a cruel master.

BTW, well said Doug. Sorry about the loss of your friend.

"The dealer is a man with a lot of grass in his hand, but the Pusher is a monster...God damn the Pusher man!" That goes out to all those M.D.s out there giving out scrips of Oxys. They are worse than the street thugs. Sorry for your loss Doug.

Well said yourself! Thanks for the positive vibes guys.

Josh was a legend the day I met him. My friends Kieth, Eric, and myself were in the locker room after gym carrying on like we always did when the new kid came busting through us, flipped over onto his back, held a lighter to his a$$, and out came a big blue flame. We loved it of coarse, and he invited us to his house after school that day. We went. He quickly became my main homie until we lost him at 27. He had a knack for reciting great stories in our lives that I didn't remember, so when we lost him, a chunk of these crazy/funny stories went with him.

I love you and I miss you Josh. I hope we can still have a beer in heaven, whatever or wherever that may be.

Someone, elsewhere, insinuated I was glamorizing heroin. At that time I wasn't. Do I make some off-hand, pro-drug statements? Yeah, I do. But I actually warn people on here who got problems, and even extend a hand to anyone who wants to listen. And I have also exposed my life, including my downfall from drugs, so if anyone thinks that's glamorous, well that's on them.

Actually most people on here glamorize drugs. Alcohol is praised as the almighty on here. Alcohol kills more people than any other illegal drug....combined. It creates arrogant, violent douche bags like no other drug. Behind every domestic disturbance is a case of bud and a bottle of Jack.

And people get involved in opiates because they think that trying it once isn't going to hurt them. But, they dig the feeling, and continue using. I'm not going to sugarcoat this: opiates(in the beginning) might quite possibly be the best feeling on this planet. That's why people continue to use when they know what lies ahead. Then EVERYBODY hits a point where the stuff doesn't get them high anymore.

And no, contrary to media propaganda not everyone who tries opiates becomes addicted. And there are people who can maintain recreational use, as they don't have the brain wiring that turns others into fiends.

And the North East doesn't get dope from Asia. It comes from South America.

First off, let me say that I am truly sorry for your loss Doug. I've seen the damage heavy drug and alchohol use puts on not just the user, but their family and friends.

Years ago I encountered what is known as Sagamon's Principle. Simply stated, the more complex a substances chemical equation, the more dangerous to the user it is. To this day I believe firmly in this notion. Powders and pills aren't for recreation Jack! If nature didn't make it in the form you are consuming it in, watch out.

Some roads are a one way ride to hell, no reason to even go there. If you are going to party, be smart about it. You are not stronger than the nefarious demons luring you to the darkside of life.

what i dont get is why im always seeing doctors getting arrested for writing bogus scripts, but nobody ever goes after the pharmacutical companies that make the shyt!!!!!it pisses me off.the shyt doesnt help anyone.i have back and kneee problems, and was on the blue skidoos for 4years,all it does is alter the mind, then after 2 hours your sick from withdrawel.i kicked cold turkey without any help,it was hell but il take a week of feeling like death than more years of feeling fine then feeling sick.

most people get into dope because the pills no longer due it,and its too expensive.20bucks a pill when u can get half a bundle for 20 bucks.my family has a long history with abusing dope, and even tho i was on the pills, which were legit signed by a real dr,no bs,i never would ever try the heron.my brother shot up for years, then got locked up for armed robbery and did 8yrs,and it saved his life.sometimes prison is the only option.i know many who went to rehab multiple times, then overdose and die 2 months out of rehab.my buddy left his best friend to die when he started oding.idk why he aint in jail, but im not the prosecutor.my current brother in law is a former pillhead now turned into a full blown junkie, who shoots up dope instead of sniffing pills.i tell his dad everyday, one of these days its going to be the court house or the morgue, but he dont care.hes 37 so he can make his own decisions.
i just dont see why they keep producing this shyt in the labs, the oxys.doctors are afraid to even prescribe it nowadays,so why keep manufacturing it.my dr cut me off due to recent publishings and threats about getting locked up for prescribing to someone who dies.i guess my dr thought i was going to die or something.i had just started a new job,and i lost that job cus i was out of work for 2 weeks sick,my 2nd week of work.so yea i can say my dr did a lot of good.he didnt give me any suboxone or anything like that,he just gave me 1 last script and said have a nice day.and most regular people who do have a drug problem, that would be the time to start going down to asbury to cop some dope.not me tho..and yes dope doesnt grow in america.

and pjb i have to disagree with u for once, saying some people can maintain recreational use.theres the feinds that can support their habit by working a regular job and fitting in like a regular joe, then u have your feinds who have to steal for their next fix.no,people dont do dope or a pill once and get addicted, but if u take it more than 3 days in a row,u will feel withdrawl for the next 2 days.theres no such thing as an in between dope feind.its a cycle,ur either high or your sick.being normal means being high, sick is when your not high.its a very dangerous phase.
