    Sandbars

Was talking to my friends about why I thought many jersey beachbreaks get hollow more often than many new england beachbreaks but started to stumble halfway through my explanation...whats the real reasons it barrels at 3 ft as opposed to some breaks in N.E.?

p.s. i'm sure theres a thread for this so...screw it
p.p.s. could just be a deal vs gansett thing bc there are obv places like cape cod that create mutant heavers

sandbars in jersey go from deep to very shallow and its basically a speed bump on the seafloor, and that causes the waves to barrel.if it was a gentle slope, like a narrow hill underwater, then u have crumbly waves that don't barrel

It's all bout the sand bars... They can get fairly hairball crazy At low tide...

The barrels in Belmar are always bigger...artificial reef
