ESA Mid-Atlantic Regionals 2014 Folly Beach, SC

Surf's going flat just in time for Regionals

They will be streaming the comp live on www.surfesa.org. If anyone wants a good laugh my first heat will be on Thursday sometime between 2:00 and 2:30pm. I'm thinking I'll milk the most points by riding the mini sims switch stance or perhaps on my head...

Welcome to Charleston. It was waist high on IOP earlier, so typical waves for this area.

Edit: thought you were already here. Hope there are waves by the end of the week.

Surfed that event when I was a kid. Knee high at best and they had it. I don't think I even caught a wave. Needless to say, I was knocked out in the first heat. Do love that area tho...charleston is a beautiful town. Gave me lots of time to play tourist there.

It's all divided between SB/LB/SUP and age divisions and then there's the Open SB.... which is just that.

To get into regionals you have to place high enough in your local ESA comps. By making it to regionals you get a spot in the East Coast Championships held every year in Nags Head.

I think it's tons of fun and it keeps me motivated to stay in shape and surf as much as possible.

    --------

Brew: Looks like y'all got some fun ones over the past couple days. Such as with contests, just in time for it to go flat.

I don't know how it was up in Folly, but with the head high surf down here, came ridiculous onshore, sideshore, cold weather and about a foot of rain. Between attending the RBC Heritage and surfing the past couple days, I questioned my decision making as of last night. So, it was better that nothing, but the conditions were lass than desirable.

Matter of fact, if the event window starts today, you should run every heat, for every event for the next 11 hours. If you guys get cracking at 6:30 am, you may be able to complete the SUP and LB events.

But today is the day man. Today is the day.
